Not all of us are into spicy flavors. So, when it comes to oregano essential
oil, the simplest way to smooth its intense, spicy taste and still enjoy the Greek oregano aroma and healing properties is adding it to some olive oil in your salad or on a slice of toasted bread (preferably sordough bread that facilitates the body’s absorption of cereal grain nutrients, contrary to yeasted breads) .
Simply add 1-2 drops to 2 tablespoons of olive oil (or experiment to find the right blend for you), stir, and spread over your vegetables or bread. Add salt if you prefer, and you have it!
One drop of our Greek oregano organic essential oil is distilled out of approximately 15 gr of dried oregano, so you can imagine how concentrated the smell, taste and properties are.
The idea of this delicious Greek salad with tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, caper, onion with a dressing made of our Greek oregano essential oil, olive oil and vinegar, belongs to our good friend Giannis Loukakis from #mourga restaurant, here in Thessaloniki. It is one of our favorite places and Giannis, an admittedly inspired chef – and certainly not a social media fan- often experiments with our essential oils, always coming up with great recipes.
And if in London, UK, why don’t you try it with one of Oliveology’s exceptional Greek olive oils? We strongly recommend it!
